Back in the Groove...

...after being in bed for a week because of illness, I finally got back to work, and I spent all day applying gold leaf and stripes to a lowrider. When it's finished, I will post photos, but in the meantime, here are two pics of some gold leaf work done to a truck that I did a few weeks ago. We painted a vertical fade on it, then a gold stripe around the body, and some striping designs to give it some personality...
...nothing says class and status like real gold leaf on your ride

Enemy Mind 412 Hardcore...

My buddy "Greenfield" Mike is the frontman for the deathcore band Enemy Mind. We used to paint graffiti together when I lived back east. When he started Enemy Mind, he asked me to design a logo, which I was happy to do. The band has gotten very popular very fast, and if your on the east coast, check out their myspace page for their next show. Here are some logos I've done for them...

Some Things I've seen...

I've been sick as a dog for the past few days, and haven't produced any artwork to post, so here are some photos from my recent journeys. The pic above is of the truly awesome ceiling murals that are inside the Venetian Casino in Las Vegas. The amount of work and craftsmanship that went into creating the massive murals is stunning, and worth a trip to Vegas for the art alone.
Brian Papa and I came across this tree with all sorts of bikes hanging from it while we were in Florida
...and we visited the famous South of the Border truck stop while we were in South Carolina. This giant sign stands about 12 stories tall.
I snapped this photo while driving through Tennessee late one night. I was pulling up to a Wendy's drive-thru window, and found about ten cats in the parking lot begging for hamburgers. I took this photo with my cell phone because I knew nobody would believe me if I told them what I had seen! The funny thing is that most people think that the photo is fake!
...and while at the SEMA Custom Car Show in Vegas, I saw this car that was completely covered in diamonds. It's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.

My friend TJ...

My friend TJ is all about hot rods, custom cars, and tricked out rides. A little while ago, he had a replica of the Munster's Dragula built to add to his collection. The famous coffin bodied dragster from the old television show "The Munsters" was fully functioning, and when it arrived at TJ's house, he actually took it out on the interstate to see what it could do! He then wanted me to paint a show sign for it for when he took it to car shows. I painted the sign with "The Munsters" logo, flames, and an airbrushed portrait of the dragster!
...a couple months later, TJ had bought a new house, and wanted to make the downstairs into his own hot rod themed lounge. The room was decorated with neon signs, pictures of his cars, a huge model car collection, a bar, and even a 50's diner area. I painted this big RatFink character on the wall for him to complete the decor! I haven't seen TJ in a long while, and when I go back east for a visit, I will be sure to hang out with him

One of My Favorites...

I painted this bike a few years ago for Infamous Choppers. It's got all the bells and whistles: root beer candy marblizer, blue metallic beveled tribal, grape granite, and varigated leaf striping. I love the way this bike turned out, especially the colors. This is a great example of what can be achieved when the owner doesn't put limitations on my creativity, and lets me go wild!
